Red Stripe Romper

This was an impulse buy. It only set me back $6 at Value Village. It was a romper, and it had fabulous red and gold crest buttons. I was so excited I plucked the buttons off before I snapped the picture. But then I tried the romper on again. It looked like a clown suit.
The stripes and square collar had potential, and, after all, I couldn't let a romper go to waste. So, I took in the sides and whacked off the long legs. I cut them to make seam binding for the hem of the short legs, and used some more of the leg fabric to make matching buttons. Then I turned the former cuffs into a belt.
Now it's a summery romper reminiscent of vintage bathing suits!

Kaleidoscope

My weekend consisted of eating rhubarb crisp and taking pictures of lush, vibrant flowers. There are such striking color combos in bloom right now!

Sheer Mint Skirt

I created this gathered, sheer, mint green skirt, complete with a satin waistband. It's just something frivolous and glamorous for spring!

Candy Cane Carnations

My mom bought these intricately striped carnations and they totally remind me of candy canes.
See that refreshing resemblance? Clearly they make a festive bouquet.

Scallop Shoes Arrival

I received my Milk and Honey prize shoes the other day! The package was delivered by a postman working extensive Christmas hours, so it arrived in the evening as a lovely early Christmas gift.

It was so delightfully suspenseful to unwrap the box and discover the shoes made of my Scallop fabric.
They are excellent quality shoes.
Whatever time they spend off my feet they will probably spend on my shelf so I can squeal at their cheery beauty. Thanks Milk and Honey and Spoonflower!

Little Red Riding Skirt

This skirt is like something from a fairy tale. As unbelievable as it may sound, I found the vintage Ralph Lauren beauty at Value Village for $6--quite the deal!
I adore the skirt's pleats and rich color. It is made of warm wool. Plus, the length and weight is fabulous because I don't have to be concerned about it ballooning up with the slightest breeze! It's a great skirt for twirling and, of course, waltzing through the forest on the way to Grandma's.
This photo was taken just before something ran out of the bushes towards me.
The Big Bad Wolf took me by surprise! I screamed, but that scream quickly morphed into laughter as I realized the irony of the situation. My mom and I chatted with the dog's owner for a few minutes before she and her dog continued their walk.
This wolf was hardly big or bad. Instead, he was a hilariously perfect addition the photoshoot.
