Cluster Greenery Kiosk

Here's my original concept, branding, and design for a mall kiosk selling potted plants!
The inspiration for it was my Mossy Mint Chip design.
The goal was a lush, contemporary kiosk with accessible access.
I rendered the model in SketchUp and Photoshop. The top elevation view resembles a C, for Cluster. The circular design allows for maximum client-consumer interaction and display space. 
The kiosk stocks succulents, terrariums, moss, bonsai citrus, and the like, on reclaimed wooden shelves. 
Under the counter and at the back is storage in brand-matched turquoise boxes for plants and materials. There is a rack of brochures accompanying the products. The back of the kiosk is covered in acrylic succulent leaves lit from within, with a geometric surface design and inset pot holes for extra plant display.

3rd Blogiversary: Leather Shoes

The traditional gift for 3rd anniversaries is leather. Hence, I have decided to celebrate my favourite piece of leather, my shoes, which I have worn pretty much constantly for 3 years. I found the lovely pair at Value Village for $12.99. Ironically, a week later, I happened to see the exact same pair in my size, but I passed them by since I had just bought mine and I didn't realize how much I would grow to love them. Ultimately, they are a metaphor for something that means more than fashion.

 These guys have been to Toronto, Montréal, Québec City, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, many an antique show, and so on! They have been covered in mud, but they just brush off and acquire a pretty patina.
 They are obviously durable, and have aged beautifully. They are so soft now, and have comfortably molded to my feet. These shoes also look good with both pants and dresses, and, best of all, I can walk forever in them.
I hope someone else owns that other pair of these shoes and is loving them. This all to say that quality is what to strive for, because quality lasts. A life surrounded by good, positive, enduring things is gorgeous. Thank you for 3 years of readership--here's to many more years of loveliness!

Vintage Church Print

I found this gorgeous framed church print at Value Village for $6.99! 
It's godly, vintage, black and white, architectural, detailed, distressed, and French, therefore it will be prominently hanging on my walls for the rest of my life!

Découpaged Flower Chair

This project began with me hoarding magazine clippings of flowers for 7 years.
I wanted to cover a chair in them, but was waiting for the perfect chair to drop into my life. One day I was driving home and realized it was garbage day in my neighbourhood. I took a detour looking for furniture at curbs and slammed on my breaks when I saw this chair upside down on someone’s lawn. I threw it in the back seat as the neighbours stared, and I smirked gleefully all the way home. The chair has funky mid-century lines. 
I washed it and ripped the decomposing upholstery off the seat; there were 3 layers of atrocity to work through, the crowning glory being this exquisite '70s fabric. Needless to say, ew, that was a task and a half. 
Then I started gluing the flowers to the surface with Mod Podge. 
And gluing...
And gluing...
It took too many hours to count, but it’s exactly the cheerful piece I first imagined oh so long ago!
