Christmas Craft Sale 2013

Here is a little documentation of my Graceful Cards table at the craft sale I was in on the weekend. It was a bright display (surrounded by beautiful chaos of other tables) stuffed with unique greeting cards, and trimmed with some of my Spoonflower design swatches.
At lunchtime during the sale someone opened the outside doors and we crafters, who had been cooped up at our tables, discovered that a lovely blanket of snow had dusted the ground! That was the highlight of the day, because now it's really "beginning to look a lot like Christmas" around here!

Sheer Loveliness

Oh, such delicate beauty! Here are some pictures I snapped at a vintage clothing show of a few vintage dresses that made me swoon.
The petal-like tiers and floral frills make this dress unique.
I love the scalloped neckline and lace.
Those pearl buttons are the perfect addition to this mint dress.
A jaunty yellow gown with a velvet bow and embroidered flowers.
The design on this bodice is so intricate!
This reminds me of ribbon candy.
Needless to say, I could drool over all of these detailed garments forever!

Craft Sale Prep

It's holiday craft sale season! I have been spending this weekend making Graceful Cards--Graceful Christmas Cards--like crazy, and planning out my table set up for the craft sale I am going to be in next week. I adore staging my table to create balance between the products. Of course I have been dancing around to peppy vintage Christmas music all the while! Fa la la la la!

At the Station

Here is one of my paintings, titled "At the Station". I chose to paint this '40s style image because I am intrigued by the personal stories surrounding war. The deep loyalty and love evident in memoirs are relatable yet astounding at the same time. They are admirable testaments of bravery.

Vintage is Always in Style

I made this shadow box to showcase some dainty items that represent my love for styles of days gone by. As you can see, it features vintage jewellery and textiles, designer paper, clipped printouts of Modcloth clothing, and magazine cutouts--that photo of a glamorous woman in front of a train is a Kohler toilet ad! Ha! This is one of my favourite types of art, because compiling themed scraps into a frame is like making a mini window display!

Fall Outfits

I love the rustic colors, textures, and prints of fall! All that corduroy, velvet, knit, leather, floral, argyle, plaid...
There's just so much natural inspiration and cozy outfit potential!
