Quick Tip: Cleaning Stamps

Silicone stamps are great for their detail, but  if they are improperly cleaned their grooves can get permanently clogged with ink and cause their prints to lose their intricacy. Using a toothbrush and mild soap to clean them right after use helps keeps them stain-free.

European Backpacking

Goodness, so much fabric designing activity! This is my entry to Spoonflower's Backpack challenge of the week. I went the romantic route with the theme instead of going for traditional back-to-school. Aside from the color scheme, my favourite part is the layers of stamps over the design. They were so much fun to draw!

DIY Stamp Shirt in Moustache

Stamps are an easy way to make an all-over print on a shirt.

Materials:

T-shirt of choice

Similarly sized piece of cardboard

Acrylic or fabric paint

Paintbrush

Stamp

Step 1: Insert the cardboard into the shirt so the fabric surface is smooth.

Step 2: Load the stamp up with paint.

Step 3: Stamp and repeat! (Pretty self-explanatory!)

Vintage Find: Crystals and Stamps

I've been wanting to start a collection of chandelier crystals for a long time, but I never seem to find any off the fixture. So when I saw this pair for $5 at an antique store I bought it to start that dream once and for all. I have always wanted to make an elaborate chandelier, although for now I will channel my inner Pollyanna and the sparkly melange will hang by my window.

That same day I also found this nifty British stamp album from the '50s, which I bought for $10. 

Thanks to Mr. James David Crawford I now have a myriad of stamps, from several countries, dating back to the '30s, and '40s. I will use them for various creative projects!
