Tea Towels

I've been on a tea towel making rampage! I ordered a bunch of fat quarters from my shop in Linen Cotton Canvas Ultra and then sewed the edges with mitered corners. The designs pictured are Fresh BerryCobalt CrazeDelft TeaUnionCabbageTurkish Tile, and Bubblegum Calico. How perfect with these dishes!

I found these delightful hand-painted Delft Blauw tiles at Value Village for a total of $5. I love how the left-hand one features iconic architecture and scenery of various Dutch locales!

Delft Charms

Much to my delight I found these dainty little charms at Michael's and am turning them into jewellery!

Delft Tile Tray

I found this mid-century cheese tray at a local thrift store for $1! Frankly, the tiles alone are worth more than that. It was originally medium brown wood, and those little right-hand circles were red magnets, but I covered the whole piece in some coats of Old White Chalk Paint. I might use it as a tray for craft projects, or I might hang it on a wall and secure some fancy knobs into those left-hand circles as hooks.
Either way, I'm in love with the painterly blue and white tiles!

Blue Willow Study

Several years ago my mom painted this study of Blue Willow dishes, the dishes we had when I was little. Shortly afterwards she was consolidating some of her test paintings, painting over them or cutting them up (!), but saved this one. I love the blues and simplified shapes. It looks so fresh and free.

Tea Town

The intricate details, colour combinations, and metallic accents on tins thrill my soul, so I decorated my growing collection of tins for Christmas!

Recent Thrift: Delft Blue Tin

This appears to have been a cookie tin. The bottom is stamped: Dirk Eden--Fabrikation feiner Teegebäcke--Jever, Friesland. I love the painterly scene and the scalloped band around the bottom and lid.

Daydreamer Plate

I found this little wall plate at a thrift store for $3 and love it with all my heart. The blue and white, birds and flowers, sweetly scripted poem, and quirky off-center hanging hole are what make it charming perfection. I wonder, did someone receive this as a gift from a dear friend going away?

Hammered Copper Kettle

I found this gorgeous copper kettle at Value Village for $4.99. I love the curvy shape, gleaming copper, hammered hexagons, and painted ceramic handles.
Plus the inside is pristine!
These papers were inside.
It has such wonderful texture.
